Supreme Commander may be barely complete, but Gas Powered Games and their veteran head Chris Taylor are already looking ahead. Taking a break from the unofficial Total Annihilation sequel, Taylor reckons that GPG’s next title will be comedic game for next-gen consoles.
A release in 2009 for the side-splitter is planned by Taylor and his team, the well-respected game designer revealing his top-secret plans to GamesIndustry.biz. “Actually, well, we’ve got something we think is going to be very funny, very entertaining,” he whispered. "When you get this next game, a couple years from now, and you’re like, ‘Okay, finally, I get to check out what this guy’s talking about,’ you’re going to sit back, you’re going to relax, you’re going to enjoy yourself."He added that a new IP is the order of the day, and that fresh ideas will be very much de rigour as people grow tired of familiar names. Hopefully we’ll have more on this soon, in the meantime, feel free to get back to loving Supreme Commander. Go on, you know you want to.
