I am officially reopening this project since I have a ton of sparetime, content will come soon, my Bryce maps are also apart of this. Three hundred years had passed since the end of the infinite warbetween the Arm and the Core. Both equally battered and decimated withfew numbers residing on almost completely resource-depleted planets. Bysaid time the Milky Way Galaxy was long but destroyed, however theinfinite war had been transported to a far galaxy known as Pegasus. TheArm had taken residence on a small planet made up mainly of forestationand vast rivers in the far outskirts of the Pegasus Galaxy that theyhad named Ovidius. The few Core that remained had made home of an icyplanet named Orcus, positioned in the centre of the Pegasus Galaxy.
Core, being arrogant in their ways had gone on believing that the Armwas truly destroyed before they moved to Pegasus. They did not expectthe Arm had either the resources or the ability to follow them anyway.The Arm had used the Core’s ignorance to their advantage and rebuilt aenormous army over the three hundred years of peace. However, Arm werealso in a state of ignorance, as they had thought that the Core wouldrebuild a peaceful civilization in thinking that they were alone in thegalaxy, however the Core had rebuilt and advanced further with theirmilitary for reasons unknown. The Arm Federation had the element ofsurprise, but they did not advance in technology any further than theCore Republic.
After many years of rebuilding,the Arm started to make a move,advancing slowly towards the Core home world. While the Core had noidea what was coming, the Arm had no idea that the Core was ready forit.[/b]
Q&A
Q. What is this modification about?
A. TA:R is a modification with a simple goal, to create a kindof expansion that might have been done by Cavedog were they stillaround. This means both multi player and single player will be givenmore in the ways of units, maps and balance.
To do list: (Green = done, Yellow = in progress, Red = not started)
[b]Making the commanders both stronger in order tohelp defend early on in games, and lets face it, the commanders aresuposed to be advanced units.
Changing all missile weapons (Defender, Pulveriseretc) to air only weapons, making them all true anti air units, this wascavedogs intended use anyway, as the weapons all had special damage forall air units, however being able to shoot at ground made all thoseunits too good.
Ripping out all the GUI and replacing it with less ugly, less boring GUI to make TA more attractive to look at.
Adding a map pack to go with TA:R and it’sgameplay. (more dense water areas that Core will need to occupy andmore dense metal areas which Arm will need to occupy would be the bestexample of this, to go with the new resource system).
Adding diversity to both sides by making all Core naval units submersibles and all Arm units ships.
Adding side diversity to both sides by giving Arma spider kbot factory with a set of all terrain units and giving Corethe hovercrafts, while removing Arm’s hovercrafts.
Make all useless OTA units more useful (e.i, mines, crawling bomb, sniper units etc)
Give every nanolath unit the ability to regain health automatically.
Remove arms lasers and replace with emg or gauss(with the exception of annihilator type weapons for Arm, Whilereplacing all core gauss with lasers).
Adding a 3rd tier of units to both sides. So far nothing has been added[/b]
