Wargame: European Escalation takes into account even the smallest cover, from a bush to a blocking line. A unit on open ground will not last very long, but cover will make it far more difficult to find and destroy.
The game encourages step by step movement, whether it be the creation of blocking lines or the implementation of precise ambushes.
You will also have to take advantage of the land’s relief: a hill can hide enemy troops close by and cut your fire lines. Height will become a natural tactical objective, as it allows a player a superior view of the battlefield.
Scouting is another vital factor. Finding out an enemy’s distance is always helpful, but scouts’ abilities are limited: though they can consistently spot enemy vehicles, they cannot necessarily identify what type of vehicle they are up against. A scout’s accuracy is based on a series of factor’s, from the troop’s Identification Value to the meteorological conditions of the area.
